Resident Testimonials

"I have been a resident of Johns Island and Wadmalaw Island for 20 years and couldn't have imagined growing up / living anywhere else. I was born and raised on Wadmalaw Island until I left to go to college. The experience that I had growing up in an area as rural and gorgeous as Wadmalaw has made an everlasting mark on my life that allowed me to experience things that many people go a lifetime without. I attended a private school downtown Charleston that was a short 25 minute commute every morning.

The people of Wadmalaw are like a small family that truly care about the preservation of the island's beauty and "country" atmosphere. I currently reside on Johns Island and work downtown on East Bay Street as a financial consultant. Johns Island continues to maintain its naturalistic characteristics while expanding to accommodate the growth of Charleston. It takes me no more than 20 minutes to get to work every morning. With the future plans for expansion of roads and the introduction of more "neighborhood services" I don't ever see not having my address on one of these barrier islands."

"I moved to Johns Island in 1987.  I have watched Johns Island grow from a rural farming community, into a growing community that has not lost its rural appeal. Johns Island is an area that allows one to live in the country, yet still have all the necessities within a short drive.  Hospitals, grocery stores, shopping, world class golf, beaches, and all aspects of Lowcountry living are close by or on Johns Island.  I grew up here and plan on raising my family here."
